WTH . . .

World - remember when we used to have journals that, if discovered and read by someone, it meant the death penalty for them?!

What happened?

No more secrets, strangers read both your deepest and often most meaningless thoughts, you'd probably love it if your mom read your "diary" (oops I meant /blog/) now!\

And why do we need facebook updates by phone? Here is an example of something we all didn't need to know:

I do it too, but I'm just saying world, what the heck?

  1. So true Katie. I think people are just attention whores nowadays. I hate those stupid groups on facebook like, "I love it when you text me first", or "I wanted to see if you made the effort" It's just people inadvertently letting the whole world know that they have relationship issues. People used to document that shit and keep it to themselves. But now everyone found out that everyone is stupid and similar with shit like that, so it's public for everyone to hear, and to be annoyed with.

Here's my advice Katie: Start a revolution. Bring the journal back. It would do the world a favor.

  2. HAHA the ironic part of it all is that I like being a part of the blogging community, because I typically like to know whats going on with my friends that I don't see often, and vise versa. And I suppose though, that my life isn't exciting enough for a real journal, because there isn't anything interesting enough to be a secret! Or maybe I'm so conditioned to the openness of social networking now that it just seems that way.

Well, as always, the revolution will have to wait because I'm just as addicted as everyone else haha, just not to the in depth details some people share. Like I read a failblog that someone's status was about the anal sex they had last night and how they can't stop the diarrhea - and their moms comment on them haha! THAT is what a true journal is for!

  3. Totally agree. Not gonna lie, I am addicted as well. I think we all are. Maybe one day it will die off, and the revolution can begin. The world stopped loving pagers. Maybe we can stop loving facebook.

    Sorry that was really random.

  4. I think you're right! LJ died, Myspace died, so will the social networking sites in general and they'll be on to something even dumber! lol
